:::::::::                                                   early 2008 set out like most years do. inspiration and drive, with the ideals in mind that anything is possible. in feb 2008 with the creative input of ben kelley, i was able to finish an issue of knogaps. several weeks to months later i'd collected a number of sketches that caused the invention of a new strain of thought processes concerning concepts for paintings. in the summer i worked diligently with compadre daniel krall on a secret space project. as the late summer to early fall months hit, i became less inspired, derailed and mistakenly invested in the well-being of strangers. i found the creative stream again and last month i released an EP through the net label GOZOMBIE titled 'since it's over'. with this short release i tried to envelope my feelings about the past, coming to terms with it, realizing its significance, insignificance and more or less saying my goodbyes. 2008 was a fairly unproductive year, as most past years have been. i wouldn't expect 2009 to be any different, considering that when i say 'past years' of non-producing, it means at least a decade. i continue to want them to be different, but they never end up being that. it may have something to do with having passion or the lack thereof. i don't feel like i've ever fought hard in my life. not for anything. not for anyone. it's about time to start fighting. currently, i'm painting figurative abstracts on large canvases. there's a full-length album in the mastering stages. i continue to occasionally collaborate with krall on our secret project that will (upon eventual completion) be pretty cool. there are many other things coming up. some will never see the light of day, or perhaps they will, under yet another assumed name.
